Dogs for Sale

Dogs of different ages and training levels are offered for sale for domestic and commercial purposes to approved homes only. We breed both registered German Shepherds and Belgian Malinois, under the kennel name, Di Canini.

Domestic handler Classes

Classes held from February to May and September to December, trains the domestic handler to train his/her own dog. Group and individual instruction ensures that the handler learns to handle his dog in a changing and dynamic society.

Security Handler Classes

All security doghandler courses are PSIRA accredited. The duration of training courses are based on a minimum amount of five handlers in a class. Refreshments and lunches are supplied with all courses.

Boarding School

Leave your dogs with us and we will train your dog in obedience, protection and agility. Your dogs will be housed in neat and clean kennels under regular supervision. Dogs who are house trained are taken for hourly toilet breaks.

Training and medical records are supplied. Dogs are sold with contractual conditions. A two week adaptation guarantee is supplied.

This is only for dogs and handlers who have completed the Basic Obedience Course/similar course and the dog has a suitable temperament. Duration depends on dog’s ability.

2. AGILITY: Clear jump; long jump; A-frame scale; Hoop; Barrel; Pause bench
3. PROTECTION/MANWORK: Bite development; Introduction to handler protection; open area attack; Food Refusal bush ambush; Front door attack Handler protection, knife, gun attack, gang attack; home protection OR BREED SURVEY MANWORK

security handler courses

DOGHANDLER 1 (DH 1)
An introductory course that prepares the security dog handler to effectively patrol, premises and secure it against unlawful intrusion. Minimum requirements: Security Grade E
Course Duration: 3 Days (8.00am-4.00pm)

DOGHANDLER 2 (DH 2)
An intensive course that enables the security dog handler to patrol public areas e.g. car parks, shopping centres, sport venues, etc. Minimum requirements: Security Grade D & DH 1
Course duration: 3 days (8:00am-4: 30pm)

DOGHANDLER 3 (DH 3)
An intensive course that prepares the security dog handler to work in areas where staff/public is present and has more specialised requirements e.g. special events, access control points, etc.
Minimum requirements: Security Grade D & DH 2
Course duration: 5 days (8:00-4:00pm)

DOGHANDLER 4 (DH 4)
An intensive course that prepares the security dog handler to work as a Rapid Response Team for key holder or warden service employers.
Minimum requirements: Security Grade D & DH3
Course duration: 5 Days (8:00am-4:00pm)

Boarding dog school

During these courses, dogs are left with us from Monday to Friday. We train the dogs while they stay with us. When dogs are collected on Fridays, a demo is given and owners are trained to handle the dog. Fees include training as well as maintenance. Owners to supply their own food. If dogs must be left over weekends as well, an additional boarding fee is charged. Each course is a minimum of 2 weeks, of which the first weekend the dogs stays with us. Training courses can also be modified to suit the owners specific needs, at an additional cost.

A. PUPPY HOME OBEDIENCE COURSE (3-6 months)
For dogs that have completed AT LEAST 3 VACCINATIONS at 11–12 weeks (An initial deposit of one week fee is required)
1. Socialization: Puppies and Adult Dogs Introduction
2. Desensitizing
3. Stand for vet examination and grooming
4. Area adaptation
5. Heelwork
6. Sit and sit stay
7. Recall
8. Eat on command
9. Enter and Exit Vehicle (Intro to stay)
10. Training of owner

B. HOME OBEDIENCE COURSE (6 MONTHS- 3 YEARS; *temperament dependent)
Duration: 4 weeks and up (An initial deposit of one week’s fee is required)
1. Stand for vet examination and grooming
2. Area adaptation
3. Heelwork
4. Sit and sit stay (1 minute; 2 mtr distance)
5. Down and down stay (1 minute; 2mtr distance)
6. Recall
7. Steady: Traffic, Dogs, areas
8. Skills: Pass gate; enter vehicle; eat on command
9. Agility (Introduction): Clear jump; long jump; bench jump; A frame scale; hoop
10. *Protection (Introduction): assessment of protective instincts; bite development.
(* Only if the dog is able to do this)
11. Training of owner *BEHAVIOUR MODIFICATION FOR PROBLEM DOGS PRIOR TO HOME OBEDIENCE*

C. PERSONAL PROTECTION COURSE (For dogs that have completed the Basic Obedience Course/similar course and have been tested)

LEVEL 1
Duration: 4 weeks+ (Duration depends on dog’s ability.)
1. OBEDIENCE: Loose leash Heelwork; Auto sit; Sit stay & Down stay (1 minute @ 10 mtr distance), Recall; Distance control; Area orientation; food refusal
2. AGILITY: Clear jump; long jump; A-frame and barrels
3. PROTECTION/MANWORK: Bite arm; Open area attack; bush ambush with knife attack and Home protection
4. Training of owner

LEVEL 2
Duration: 4 weeks+ (Duration depends on dog’s ability.)
1. OBEDIENCE: Off leash Heelwork; Auto sit; Sit stay & Down stay (2 minute @ 20 meter distance), Recall; Distance control; Area orientation; food refusal
2. AGILITY: Steps, Clear jump; long barrel jump; , barrel A-frame and tunnels
3. PROTECTION/MANWORK: Bite body; Open area attack under gunshot ; Home protection; gang attack; Anti hijack
